Pompeii: My Opinion
I find the story of Pompeii
quite amazing. I find Aristocrat's slot game based on this famous event far less amazing. In fact I'd go as far as to say I'd probably rather spend my time watching a dormant volcano in expectancy. Well, OK, that's a bit harsh and I probably wouldn't. Although it would be cheaper.
But as you can see from the way people are rating it, not everyone feels the same way as me. It maybe because Pompeii's one redeeming feature is that it has a free spin bonus - but even that only tries to excite you once in a blue moon. To be fair, the online version of Pompeii is pretty much identical in every respect to the terrestrial version but it doesn't really have much to excite.
There are potentially two ways you can walk away from the Pompeii slot with a win that makes you happy: either getting 5 Salamander type symbols, which is pretty tricky, in the base game or by getting both the wild symbols - they only appear on reels 2 + 4 - in a winning combination during the free spin feature wherethey combine to multiply the win by 15x. get both together and you will be shaking your head at me wondering wtf I am going on about here. But you probably won't.
I know the Pompeii slot has it's fans but you probably guessed, I'm not among them. When you compare it to other Aristocrat games like 50 Lions
for example - or even Choy Sun Doa
which is very popular even though it's another I struggle with - then Pompeii seems way less exciting. It's high variance (ie: you need the big combos to walk away a winner) but if you don't fall asleep waiting for something to happen then you're a more attentive (or possibly younger!) man (or woman) than I!
Good luck with that.
